The Wild Bodged Chair

The Wild Bodged Chair

Inspired by Victorian’s Port Chairs, The Wild Bodged Chair fuses contemporary aesthetic with the rich cultural and craft tradition of Mexicoʼs Oaxaca province. These one-off pieces are both sculptural art and fully functional furniture. Wood and branches of all kinds, lengths and thicknesses have been harvested from the wilderness woods of San Jose del Pacifico. These are then intersected and correlated spatially to create a dynamic dialogue of components, dancing to an organic rhythm.

The Wild Bodged Chair responds to the anonymous and generic manufacturing techniques embodied in so much of the furniture design that today surrounds us.
