This Light Console Table was born as a cathartic exercise, transforming memories and feelings into something tangible, functional and poetic.
The console is made out of a 90’s Jeep Cherokee radiator that used to belong to a former partner, and it was key element to our relationship as road trips was what we used to do best together.
It was during a trip to Oaxaca’s Sierra, and while creating The Wild Bodged Chair, that at I’ve got trapped on a slope and in my efforts to get out of it I burst the radiator. I returned to Mexico City with a brand new furniture piece and a damaged radiator, which I replaced -keeping the burst part as I found it interesting.
At the end, my partner and I broke up for good. I kept the radiator and gave it a new life as a console table with a light attached on top. Because there is some lights that never go out.
