Fredo
VAL was invited by Martinez Sordo to customize Fredo, their lovely pet bear, as part of Martinez Sordo intiative to support ‘Caritas Felices’ a no profitable charity for Mexican children facing cancer. VAL is one of the 70 artists, designers and Mexican luminaries whose work was auctioned on May 2011 at Martinez Sordo’s showroom in Altavista 147, Mexico City. The turnover of the auction was entirely donated to ‘Caritas Felices’.
The narrative behind VAL’s Fredo takes its inspiration from the ancient artwork of the Huichol communities, based in North Mexico. Through a creative process of abstraction, VAL proposal suggest a personal approach to the Huichol techniques under a contemporary view.
Fredo by VAL is a unique, one of a kind piece.
