Every story, however hidden, leave TRACES… The objects we leave behind, speak fragile broken sentences to those who come across them later.
.
For four days in August, TRACES will take a neglected old Victorian pub and bring it back to life. Painstakingly researched, TRACES is an immersive and theatrical art and design showcase that will map and elaborate on the actual stories of the (now long-dead) inhabitants of our event’s location: The Marquis of Lansdowne.

The public are invited to come along and discover these histories for themselves; wandering through the rooms left as if only a moment before, and unpicking their secretes. Comparing notes about what’s going on over drinks. Interacting with the specially commissioned and selected art and design pieces to unravel clues about the building and its inhabitants; whilst also having the opportunity of buying their favourite ones at the end of the nights.

Following the success of the original Bodging Milano project 2010, co-founders Rory Dodd and Chris Eckersley decided to invite a second group of designers to make a return trip deep in the Clissett Wood. Going back to basic, each designer had the opportunity to experience and learn the traditional craft of bodging whist construct their own individual greenwood chair under the expert guidance of Gudrun Leitx and her team.
.

The resulted pieces will be launched at Designersblock, part of the London Design Festival 2012 in the Southback Centre in September.

For the second chapter of the 2012 edition of Mexico Through Your Senses, Mexican designer, Valentina Gonzalez Wohlers showcased samples of her unique line of furniture. From “The Ghost of a Chair” to tables that mimic the outline of Tenochtitlan -the capital of the Aztec Empire, now Mexico City. Guests had the chance to catch a glimpse of Valentina’s staggering creativity. Although her style has a strong rooting in Mexican traditions, it remains fiercely contemporary.
>
During the event, Valentina held a public conversation with Piers Roberts Director of the prestigious design show Designersblock, in which she explained the principles that underlie her work, as well as her professional trajectory.
